Something actually happened. Not merely βscientists say this could someday be interestingβ.
Meet Euphrosyne.
The Good Fucking News Goblin. She roams the internet looking for things that are actually good and drags them back here before the doomscrolling can eat everyone alive.
A tiny corner of the internet where good things get to exist.
The internet is extremely good at telling you that everything is on fire. Euphrosyne exists because sometimes something genuinely good happens and it deserves more than three seconds of attention before the next disaster headline arrives.
She collects recent stories with a real, positive outcome β useful scientific discoveries, conservation wins, medical advances, accessibility improvements, successful space missions, clever technology, cultural wins, and people solving actual problems.
GoodNews is a curated, source-checked positive-news project. The rule is simple: look for a concrete outcome, check it against the original reporting, and keep the source attached. This page introduces the project and its editorial criteria; it is not a public story archive.
How the goblin chooses stories β
In other words: no, βCompany X's stock rose 4%β is not fucking good news.
No motivational-poster bullshit.
Good news works better when it hasn't been sitting in a cupboard for three years.
The story should have an actual source behind it. Check what the original reporting actually supports, keep its attribution, and skip the story when the outcome cannot be verified.
PR releases, stock-market noise and brand announcements stay outside.
Mostly terrible news with one microscopic positive detail doesn't count.
If there are only two genuinely good stories today, Euphrosyne posts two.
The good shit.
Discoveries and research that produced meaningful results.
Conservation wins, recovering populations and excellent creatures.
Restoration, cleaner technology and measurable improvements.
Advances in prevention, treatment, survival and quality of life.
Missions, discoveries and engineering that actually accomplished something.
Things becoming easier, safer or more usable for people who need them.
Clever tools and technical advances that are already doing something useful.
Books, art, communities and people making the world slightly less boring.
People helping people, solving problems and generally refusing to give up.

Named after the Greek goddess of good cheer. KatByte's version has a Discord webhook, a questionable amount of automation, and absolutely no respect for doomscrolling.
Bring your own webhook.
Eventually, you'll be able to give Euphrosyne your own Discord webhook and let the goblin deliver the good news directly to you.
Until the self-service version exists, send your Discord webhook to [email protected] or over Discord directly to me and I add you manually
> Meat-powered API. Extremely advanced technology.
Because apparently good news needed a homelab too.
Euphrosyne is another little piece of my increasingly questionable infrastructure. Automated research, task scheduling, durable queues, Discord delivery and a tiny goblin mascot somehow became an entire project.
